Wang et al. - Periodontal Adjunct Trial

A small randomised placebo-controlled trial in patients with chronic periodontitis studied live LS97, LC86 and LA85 chewables at 5 billion CFU per tablet, alongside periodontal physical treatment. Researchers reported improvements in bleeding on probing, pocket depth and salivary IgA, with changes in selected plaque bacteria.
Preliminary adjunct evidence, not a Prism trial. Prism lists 4 billion CFU per chewable, not the studied dose or the same formula. This does not prove whitening, enamel repair, cavity prevention or a replacement for periodontal care.
A study in 31 participants used toothpaste containing inactivated LS97, LC86 and LA85 strains (postbiotics). Researchers reported changes in salivary IgA and selected microbiota measures, but no significant change in overall salivary microbiota structure.
This was inactivated toothpaste, not live chewables. Its form and delivery differ fromPrism, so efficacy cannot be transferred directly. Neither this study nor the live-chewable trial substantiates enamel-repair or whitening claims for Prism.
